AI code assistant

Let the AI assistant generate custom data manipulations or API calls to your apps – just provide API documentation, inputs, and instructions

The AI assistant is built into our Javascript code block.

Map inputs into the code block, then describe to the assistant what you want it to do.

The AI assistant will generate the Javascript code that will perform the exact data manipulation, conditional logic check, or action in your app – without the need for a developer's help 🙌

Getting custom helpers

To generate a custom data manipulation or conditional logic check:

  1. Map inputs into the code

  2. Open the assistant

  3. Select one of the suggested prompts, or provide your own (note: be specific!)

  4. Click Use code and test the step

If you don't get the results you expect when testing the step, explain to the assistant what you got vs. what you expected to get. The AI assistant will refine the code based on your feedback.

You can keep testing the generated code until it works the way you want.

Getting custom app actions

To generate a custom action in your app, the AI assistant will need to receive API documentation.

  1. Find API documentation for your app. Try searching "API documentation" + "[app name]" + "[action you want to perform]"

  2. Click "Add API documentation" and either paste a link to the documentation or paste the entire text. This will be saved for future use.

  3. Map inputs into the code and open the assistant. Provide a prompt about the action you want to perform.

Note: You'll probably need to paste identifying and authenticating information into the generated code. Carefully look at the code to see if there are parts that are marked as needing replacement.

Tips

  • Read the comments in the code carefully to see that all of your instructions are taken into consideration. These will be in green, following two slashes (//).

  • Once you get code that works with the sample inputs provided, try updating the input data to the code block. Keep testing until you see that you get the right results will all relevant types of input.

  • The broom icon resets the conversation with the AI assistant. This is useful if you want to start prompting from scratch.
