Sort items

The Sort items helper enables rearranging rows in a table in a certain order.

Common use-cases

  • Organizing a list of customers in ascending or descending order based on the purchase amount

  • Sorting a task list by priority or deadline

The helper retrieves data from the table and sorts it according to the specified column/s:

  • Table: Specify the table with at least 2 items (rows).

  • Column to sort by: Choose the column for sorting.

  • Order: Select either High to Low or Low to High.

    • Add secondary sorting: You can add up to three columns to sort by.

Example 1 - Sort by sales

Let’s say you have a table of sales from your e-commerce store. You can use the Sort items helper to organize the table by the Total Sales column in descending order to quickly identify your highest performing products.

Consider a sales table as shown below:

Product
Total Sales

Shoes

1000

Bags

500

Jackets

1500

Shirts

2000

Hats

2000

By using the Sort items helper, you can organize the 'Total Sales' column in descending order:

Product
Total Sales

Shirts

2000

Hats

2000

Jackets

1500

Shoes

1000

Bags

500

Example 2 - Sort by product (Secondary sorting)

Let's add secondary sorting by 'Product'. The table will be first sorted by 'Total Sales' in descending order, and then by 'Product' in ascending alphabetical order:
