Convert table to text

The helper called Convert table to text lets you get information out of a table so that you can use it as a text.

Let's say your feature brings in a table of information, like a collection of event attendees.

Event attendee

Email

Guest A

GuestA@mail.com

Guest B

GuestB@mail.com

Guest C

GuestC@mail.com

You want your feature to send all the attendees an email. However, their addresses are found in the Email column inside this table.

To turn a column of email addresses into a text, use the Convert table to text helper.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Add a step with the Convert table to text helper

  2. Insert the table that contains the data you want

  3. Create a "template" for converting items in the table into text, using the column headers and whatever other text you want

  4. Choose the symbols or spacing that will separate the results of the template on every item; by default, they will be separated by a comma and a space

This turns the Email column into this text: "GuestA@mail.com, GuestB@mail.com, GuestC@mail.com"

Another example

The table above could be turned into the text below, using the template and separator below. Purple shows an inserted column header, and the separator ----- has line breaks above and below.
